MTN DataShare Changes: CBU Customers Affected
MTN has announced important changes to the way DataShare functions on their Core Business Unit (CBU) product set. If you’re an MTN customer using the CBU billing system and share mobile data with others, this update is for you.
What’s Changing?
- DataShare bundles will no longer be supported for CBU clients.
- From 1 September 2025, active DataShare groups will be automatically removed.
- Customers will need to migrate to eligible price plans that support sharing (if available) or explore alternative solutions.
What You Can Do
We recommend checking your current package and speaking with your account manager if you’re unsure whether you’re on a CBU plan or need help with alternatives like:
- Shared Data SIMs on supported packages
- Upgrading to plans that allow pooled data
- Corporate data management tools
